Halvorsen Aviation Education Foundation advances aviation education, promotes youth leadership development, enhances community capacity for emergency response, and encourages humanitarian service on macro- and micro-levels. We provide education by giving free lectures and multimedia presentatio

ns on aviation, science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) topics at local schools, community groups, and at our own facility which we will build at the Spanish Fork-Springville Airport. Further, we partner with like-minded organizations that are engaged in community service activities which support the Foundation’s objectives.

Join us for the Candy Bomber Foundation Gala September 12th!

During the evening, we will also unveil the latest designs for the new Candy Bomber Youth Education Center, scheduled to begin construction next summer at the Spanish Fork Airport. We also plan to announce a few other exciting film projects that have been many decades in the making to commemorate Gail's life and legacy. We will also feature a special performance by some of our young performers from the Candy Bomber Musical. It will be a night of great food, new connections, and inspiring stories of courage and leadership.

This year's Hope Flies High Gala will feature keynote speakers Lt. Col. (Ret.) Susanne L. Lonsberry, a decorated Air Force command pilot and former C-17 squadron commander, and Brig. Gen. (Ret.) Paul S. Peters, a respected Army Special Forces leader and strategist.

During the evening, we will also unveil the latest designs for the new Candy Bomber Youth Education Center, scheduled to begin construction next summer at the Spanish Fork Airport. What an amazing week at EAA AirVenture, Oshkosh. We came, we saw, we marveled, we candy dropped, and we had a BLAST!! We loved sharing the story of the Berlin Airlift and the Candy Bomber with so many people. Thank you to all our volunteers who made this week a success!!!

We are beyond excited! The Spirit of Freedom has made it to Oshkosh!! Come see The Candy Bomber Foundation by the C-54 throughout the day for some great candy, bomber items, and at 10 AM and 1:30 PM for Candy drops!

Even though our beloved C-54, The Spirit of Freedom was stuck in Sheboygan with engine problems, we pivoted to doing our Candy Drops from the C-17 and drew quite a crowd with parachutes, candy and smile flying all over the place.
