πŸš’ 2026 Kids Fire Safety Camp – Day 5πŸš“

Today, our campers had the opportunity to meet Spanish Fort Police Corporal McGuff, who showcased various police gear, his patrol vehicle, and led a great question-and-answer session. He was joined by Chief Barber and their K9 partner, Ray, who was a big hit with campers!

After a break, campers were introduced to the team at Riviera Utilities, who shared important electrical safety tips, including key do’s and don’ts. Campers even got hands-on experience operating equipment similar to what linemen use and had a chance to explore one of their trucks.

Following a delicious treat break, sponsored by Frozen Treats, campers participated in a fun, fire-themed scavenger hunt throughout the park.

The final day of camp wrapped up with free play and a special graduation ceremony to celebrate an amazing week of learning and memories.

We’ve truly enjoyed our 2026 campers and are already looking forward to planning our 2027 summer camp!

Stay tuned for a 2026 Kids Fire Safety Camp photo dump coming next week. πŸ”₯πŸ‘¨β€πŸš’πŸ‘©β€πŸš’

πŸš’ 2026 Kids Fire Safety Camp – Day 4 πŸš‘

Today, our campers had the opportunity to meet the telecommunicators from the Baldwin County 911 Centerβ€”along with their mascot, Josh! Campers learned valuable tips on what to do if they ever need to call 911 and how to communicate clearly during an emergency.

After a break, campers experienced the Baldwin County Fire Chiefs Association Fire Safety Trailer, where they participated in an immersive, hands-on learning environment. They were taught important kitchen safety skills, including how to properly use a fire extinguisher on different types of fires such as stove, cabinet, and garbage can fires, as well as how to respond to appliance emergencies.

Campers also learned how to check a door for heat to determine if it’s safe to exit a bedroom during a fireβ€”and what to do if it’s not, including using a window as an alternate escape. We emphasized the importance of EDITH (Exit Drills in the Home) as a lifesaving practice.

The day also included an introduction to CPR, where campers practiced hands-only CPR techniques.

To wrap up another busy and exciting day, campers worked on bunker gear drills and participated in a fun hose relay challenge.
Another full day of hands-on learning, skill-building, and excitement! πŸ”₯πŸ‘¨β€πŸš’πŸ‘©β€πŸš’

πŸš’ 2026 Kids Fire Safety Camp – Day 3 πŸš‘

Today, campers had the opportunity to meet the emergency responders of MedStar EMS! In addition to asking great questions, campers toured an ambulance and got hands-on experience with EMS equipment.
Later, campers learned how to roll fire hose and continued practicing for the upcoming firefighter challenge events. After a short break, they observed firefighters respond to and extinguish an actual vehicle fire!
Today’s learning activities also included hands-on use of real fire extinguishers and important life-saving safety tips.
To wrap up another great day of camp, each camper decorated a picture frame and had their favorite firefighters sign it.

Thank you to Beef O’Brady’s for sponsoring lunch for the staff today!
Another outstanding camp day! πŸ”₯πŸ‘¨β€πŸš’πŸ‘©β€πŸš’

πŸšπŸπŸ“šπŸ”₯ Day 2 of the 2026 Kids Fire Safety Camp was packed with excitement and hands-on learning!
Campers took to the skies with a special tour of the Medstar/AirCare EMS helicopter before enjoying educational demonstrations from Freedom Ranch and the Spanish Fort Public Library. The kids had the chance to get up close with snakes, owls, vultures, and several other animals β€” an unforgettable experience for everyone involved!
After a break, Library Assistant Lauren entertained the crowd with a reading of Pete the Cat, which quickly became a camper favorite.
We wrapped up the day the best way possible β€” climbing in and around fire engines! πŸš’ Always a crowd favorite. Check back tomorrow for an update.

A big THANK YOU to Groovy Goat for sponsoring today’s lunch! πŸ”πŸ‘
