Two rope rescue certified members from your Central View Fire Department responded as part of the Sparta Rescue Squad Special Operations Team to assist with this rescue. We are proud to be a partner to serve our neighbors wherever they need us.

Rescue Response at Burgess Falls State Park

Members of the Putnam County Rescue Squad responded today to assist with an injured subject at the base of the Top Falls.

Our Rope Rescue Team worked alongside Tennessee State Parks and Sparta-White County Volunteer Rescue Squad to safely bring the subject from the falls area to a waiting ambulance for further medical care.

This response is another great example of the importance of teamwork and cooperation between local rescue agencies and our state park partners. When an emergency happens, working together allows us to safely and efficiently help those in need.

We appreciate the dedication of everyone involved in today’s response and the continued partnership between Putnam County Rescue Squad, Tennessee State Parks, and Sparta-White County Volunteer Rescue Squad.

Neighbors helping neighbors. That’s what it’s all about.

Hey neighbors our amazing road crews are going to be working on farmer road. Please use caution, be patient, and follow the directions of the flagging crews.

We will be pulling shoulders on Farmer road today. It will be a mobile flagging operation. If you come through there chances are you could be stopped for up to 5 minutes. Please use caution and be patient. Thank you.

Thank you to Doyle Chief Sparks for stepping in and accepting our honorary check from the TN State Fire Marshal’s Office. Those funds are being used to purchase communications equipment and breathing apparatus for our members to be able to operate safely on incidents.

Our very own LT/AEMTJade Callister, who serves as a firefighter/AEMT for the City of Crossville worked tirelessly to encourage our state government to change the maximum punishment for those who would intentionally harm first responders to a felony. We are proud of the hard work she does each day for our community, the City of Crossville, and the path she is laying for future generations.
