It's one of our favorite times of the year - Time to introduce our new staff! Please join us in giving Christine Martinez a warm SPARTAN welcome!

"Hello, my name is Christine Martinez and I am a lifelong resident of Sparta, Wisconsin. I am so excited to begin this new chapter as part of the Sparta Area School District team. I have been with my husband for 18 years, and we are approaching our fourth year of marriage. Between us, we have five children. Four are adults, and our youngest will be entering his junior year of high school.

Family is very important to me, and I enjoy spending my free time with my children and making memories together. I also enjoy coloring, reading, writing, camping, taking long walks and just relaxing. My favorite time of the year is Halloween. Our family is especially excited to welcome a granddaughter this December.

I am very grateful for the opportunity to join the Sparta Area School District and look forward to learning, growing and contributing to the school community. I am excited for this new journey and all that it will bring!"

🎬 Rolling Out the Red Carpet for Our Spartan Staff!

Staff returned this week for the All-Staff Inservice and we kicked things off by rolling out the red carpet to welcome everyone back.

Lunch was available from local food trucks and staff had the opportunity to connect with community vendors who joined us for the event. A special thank-you to all of our community vendors for being part of the day. It was great to see conversations and connections happening between our community and Spartan staff.

Our staff are ready, and we’re looking forward to welcoming students back next week!

"Hello! My name is Brynn Hundt, and I'm thrilled to be joining Herrman Elementary as a 1st grade teacher!

I'm originally from Holmen and earned my Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education from UW-La Crosse. This will be my first year of teaching, and I couldn't be more excited to be part of the Sparta Area School District.

A little about me: I live in La Crosse with my fiancé, and we're getting married next fall right here in Sparta! When I'm not in the classroom, you'll usually find me baking sourdough bread, tending to my garden, or catching up on my favorite TV shows.

I can't wait to meet all my students and families and here's to an amazing year!"
