If your child is transferring to Head Start you MUST complete a Head Start application for enrollment! You may obtain an application from Ms. Denson or Ms. Stokes in Family Services at the M. E. Lewis site. Please turn in your application ASAP as spaces are available and filling up quickly. What an incredibly uplifting and victorious day!!!! Hancock County Head Start/ Pre-K Team have achieved a truly remarkable feat in successfully completing FY 25-26, demonstrating unwavering perseverance, unshakeable fortitude, unrelenting passion, unswerving devotion, and an unshakeable commitment to empowering young minds. Above and beyond!!!! One half of the team embarked on their well-deserved summer break today, while the other half will continue to blaze the trail until July. I am deeply grateful for each and every one of you. I love each of you!!!! 🎉💖🌟🎊😊💕

🍎☀️ Hancock County Schools is excited to announce our 2026 Summer Feeding Program! ☀️🍎

Beginning June 1, free breakfast and lunch meals will be available for all children 18 years old and younger at multiple locations throughout Hancock County.

📍 Meal sites include:

* Hancock Central High School
* Early Head Start
* CJE
* HC Youth Center
* HC Library

✅ Meals must be consumed on site
✅ Weekend meal kits will also be provided

📦 Parents can also pick up 7-day meal boxes every Tuesday at Hancock Central High School (Bus Ramp) from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM.

At Hancock County Schools, we are committed to ensuring our students continue to receive nutritious meals throughout the summer months. Please help us spread the word to families across our community! ❤️🐾

Hancock County Early Head Start, Head Start & Pre-K honored our Community Partners today with a luncheon at On The Way Cafe. We were so glad to have our Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Anthony and Board Member Ms. Bell in attendance as well as so many of our community partners (businesses and individuals).

Attendees got to see first hand, the impact our community partners have on our program and were treated to a delicious lunch and insightful conversation. Mental Health Professional, Mrs. Shanette Drake of Mind Is Unique gave a rousing message encouraging us to continue to show up and be present for the students of Hancock County.

As an administrator, there is no greater satisfaction than observing the hard work and dedication displayed throughout the year reflected in the data. When I describe the results as outstanding and remarkable, I am underestimating the magnitude of this achievement.
