More about Grace:

I grew up in Westby, Wisconsin and I am very excited to help with the area. I have experience with forestry, wildlife, GIS, and meteorology. I am glad to be the Monroe County Land Conservation Intern for the summer, helping with the conservation of the Driftless area.

Norwalk Fire Dept. did a prescribed burn recently at Tri-Creek where native grasses were planted 3 years ago.

Prescribed burns rejuvenate native grasses by removing dead "thatch" buildup, which increases sunlight pe*******on, soil warmth, and nutrient availability (specifically nitrogen and phosphorus) to stimulate new growth.
