🚨🔥 PLEASE DO NOT BURN! 🔥🚨

Firefighters across Christian County are currently responding to multiple emergencies, ranging from structure fires to large outdoor fires.

Current conditions are NOT suitable for open burning. Low humidity, dry vegetation, and high winds create dangerous conditions that allow fires to spread rapidly and quickly grow beyond your ability to control them.

We strongly encourage all residents to avoid outdoor burning until conditions improve.

Before conducting any outdoor burning, please check current weather conditions and contact your local fire district to verify burning restrictions and obtain any required authorization.

Our firefighters are working hard to protect lives and property throughout Christian County. Please do your part to prevent unnecessary emergencies and help keep our communities and first responders safe.

Be Fire Wise. Don’t Burn.

Thank you for helping us keep Christian County safe!

Today, Sparta R-3 School District’s Traction team took a field trip to learn the impact of distracted and impaired driving.

A huge thank you to The Track Branson and Missouri State Highway Patrol for hosting such a great event and giving us the opportunity to come together to promote highway safety and responsible driving within our community!

Events like this provide an important opportunity to remind drivers that safety starts with every decision we make behind the wheel. 🛞

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and this year, wearing pink carries an even more personal meaning for our department.
Throughout the month of October, our officers will be proudly wearing pink ribbons on their uniforms in support of Misty Holt Mayor of Sparta who is courageously battling breast cancer. 🎀
As law enforcement officers, we wear our uniforms every day to serve, protect, and stand beside our community. This month, that pink ribbon is a small but meaningful reminder that we stand beside our Mayor and everyone who has been affected by breast cancer.

Mayor Misty, please know that you are not standing alone. Your community, The City of Sparta, and The Sparta Police Department are behind you every step of the way. 🙏 💪🏽 🩷 🎀
