📢 Weather Update for Farmer Appreciation Night

We are closely monitoring the weather forecast for Thursday’s event. At this time, everything is proceeding as planned, and no changes have been made.

Our goal is to make a final decision by lunchtime tomorrow. If the forecast worsens and weather conditions are not favorable, we will move the event to the fairgrounds.

We will provide an update as soon as a decision is made. In the meantime, please help us spread the word by sharing this post so everyone stays informed.

Our Education Coordinator, Mylee Delp recently attended the Fundamentals of Conservation Planning Training in Waynesboro, NC! 🌱

This training provided valuable hands-on learning and insight into conservation planning practices that help protect our natural resources and support local landowners and agriculture. We are excited to continue bringing new knowledge and opportunities back to Alleghany County!

📣 Attention Teachers 📣

Registration is now open for the upcoming Project SWAT workshop.

This will be held August 19th, 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM at the Edwin McGee Natural Resource Center in North Wilkesboro for a hands-on professional development experience focused on Soil, Water, and Agriculture education.

This training will include:
🌱 Hands-on learning activities
📚 NC curriculum correlations
🔬 STEAM integration
💬 Opportunities to provide feedback on new curriculum development.

We encourage teachers interested in enriching classroom instruction through real-world agricultural and environmental science connections to attend!
