"Hello! My name is Rylan Peets, and 5th Grade is my favorite to teach! I grew up in Spring Lake, Michigan, where I graduated in 2018. After that, I spent 6 years at Grand Valley State University, where I obtained a degree in elementary education and also served on the varsity baseball team as a starting pitcher.

I taught for 2 years in Indianapolis after college before moving back to Michigan. I now live with my wife in Grand Rapids, and it feels so good to be back home and closer to family. In my free time, I enjoy golfing, hunting, and fishing, so you can usually find me doing something outdoors!"

"My name is Andrea (Andi) Lee, and I am so excited to begin my first year teaching Developmental Kindergarten in Sparta! After living in Sparta for the past 15 years, it feels especially meaningful to have the opportunity to teach in the community I call home. Before joining the Sparta team, I taught DK in Allendale for 14 years, as well as Kindergarten for 3 years. I absolutely love working with young learners and feel so fortunate to continue doing what I love!

Outside of school, my husband and I enjoy spending time with our two children, Gracelynn, who is 11, and Mattson, who is 8. When I’m not in the classroom, you can usually find me making memories with family and friends, riding our side-by-side, or relaxing at our family cottage. I believe strongly in the partnership between home and school, and I want every family to feel welcomed, valued, and comfortable in our classroom community.

My goal is to make school a fun and joyful place to learn. I look forward to building meaningful relationships with each student and getting to know their families throughout the year. I feel truly blessed to be a part of the Ridgeview family and to have the opportunity to serve the Sparta community."

"I am excited to be teaching 8th grade Math and Algebra I this upcoming school year at Sparta Middle School! I grew up in Hudsonville and now live in Grand Rapids. I graduated from Cornerstone University in 2025. This will be my second year of teaching. Outside of teaching, I enjoy going to the gym, playing softball, spending time with my Fiancée and family, and rooting for my favorite sports teams. I am so excited to join the team and community at Sparta Middle School!"

We have a special shoutout to some Appleview adults! Principal Lehner helped out with cleaning the lunchroom, and Mrs. DeGraff tried out the slide at 3rd grade recess. We're grateful to have such an amazing team at Sparta Area Schools.🫶
