On the continuum of individual recovery, and life in general, sometimes the things that anchor you to a good place can crumble in an instant. That's what happened to this wife of a soldier who was killed in action. Recently our partner agency, Upstate Warrior Solution, contacted us because housing was an immediate need for her. Thankfully, we were able to meet that need. Warriors Once Again was then able to meet another of her needs, by helping her get into reliable vehicle at an affordable price, thanks to our friends at Auto-Fleet Spartanburg. WOA and UWS will continue to partner together, to help this Gold Star Wife return to stability and community, as she looks to create the new "good place" that is surely waiting for her.

Warriors Once Again is saddened at the sudden unexpected passing of South Carolina Senator, Lindsay Graham. Senator Graham was ever a champion for the causes of veterans and veteran families and he will be greatly missed. South Carolina and our nation as a whole, are a better place because of his tireless work on our behalf. Our prayers are with his loved ones.

As Father's day 2026 drew to a close, I received this text message from one of our residents, thanking me. But I'm not the hero here. The real hero is the veteran who wrote it. This man did a lot of humble and hard things to turn himself around and even his broken heart has been healed. An amazing gift, for him and a wonderful testimony to a program that helps men regain their footing and find a true path. We are honored to stand with him.

Once again, the ladies of The Colonial Dames of America, South Carolina, Spartanburg Committee, have gone above and beyond, ensuring that the veterans in our program are honored for their military service, as they do for many of the holidays throughout the year. Through their wonderful generosity, our veterans enjoyed an amazing Memorial Day barbeque today. We are always humbled by their thoughtfulness toward our veterans, which is the kind of quiet encouragement that smooths the sharp edges and levels the paths they're on, renewing their strength for the journey and helping to make them Warriors Once Again.

Meet Ricky Dufresne — U.S. Army veteran, Operation Desert Storm, and now Residence Manager at Warriors Once Again.
Ricky arrived in 2025 as a homeless veteran determined to rebuild his life. Today, he’s giving back by supporting the veterans who follow, using his own journey as proof that recovery and stability are possible.

We’re proud to introduce Ricky Dufresne, our new Residence Manager at Warriors Once Again. Ricky first came to us in 2025 as a homeless veteran already committed to rebuilding his life. His dedication, construction background, and natural leadership quickly made him an essential part of our community.
Now, he’s using his own lived experience to guide and motivate the veterans who come after him, helping them find stability, purpose, and a path forward.⭐️

Next Saturday, May 2nd, is our fourth annual motorcycle fundraiser, hosted my , Spartanburg. All donations and money raised, directly supports the homeless veterans we serve, in our transitional residence program. Earlier this year, we expanded from five to seven beds. Through a unique opportunity, we are in the process of expanding by three more, for a total of ten transitional beds. Events like this, in our amazing Spartanburg community, will help make that happen, expanding our impact to serve those who served, in their time of need. Please come out and join us.
