Regardless of age, recreation and leisure are vital to one’s wellbeing. Older adulthood opens up many opportunities to try new things. This is the time that 50+ citizens can devote more time, energy, and mon

ey to their own interests and can devote their time to worthwhile community services. 50+ wellness programs also enhance independence. Participation in wellness activities keeps the mind sharp and challenged, keeps older adults social and attached to society, and keeps their bodies active and engaged. Recreation participation in older adulthood can be the difference between watching life tick away or grabbing life and making the most of every day.

Our community partners at the South Carolina Association of Area Agencies on Aging is conducting our 2026 Needs Assessment Survey and they're asking for your feedback!

They are working to gather as many responses as possible from older adults, caregivers, professionals, and community members.

It only takes a few minutes to complete, it is completely anonymous, and participants may skip any question they prefer not to answer.

Together, we can ensure that the needs of older adults are heard, clearly, accurately, and powerfully.

Fun Fact: Did you know that you can be excused from serving as a juror once you are 65 years of age and older? That said, judges appreciate older jurors as they bring a wealth of experience to the role. So, don't be afraid to say "yes" to jury duty!
