Spartanburg Northside Development Group A diverse group of people investing time, skills, and dollars for a safe and strong Northside community in Spartanburg, SC.

As a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation, our operations are funded and supported through partners, donors and volunteers. We serve to encourage and manage the redevelopment of the City of Spartanburg’s Northside community, honoring its past and expanding the economic, educational, recreational, health, and social opportunities for its residents. People of a strong community deserve safety both within

their neighborhood and their own homes. Our goal is to help provide this through a variety of lighting and streetscape improvements. Housing is also a key factor in the strength of a community. To ensure Northside families have safe structures in which to call home, we are working hard bring improved single and multi family housing, both affordable and at market rate, to the Northside area. Along with infrastructure and housing, strong communities need vital public and commercial assets for families to thrive. These include access to things like grocery stores, banking, retail, recreation outlets and quality schools.

Supporting Students, Supporting Families! 🎓💙

We’re excited to welcome the 2027 GTC Cohort, made up of 40 students from the Northside, Southside, and Highland communities who will receive one-on-one support and mentoring throughout their journey!

We had the opportunity to meet with some of their amazing parents to kick off the school year. Together, we talked about FAFSA, Big Mo, Pack the Trunk, upcoming session topics, and so much more.

It was wonderful to see parents come together, ask questions, share information, and—most importantly—show their commitment to supporting their students. When families and communities come together, our students have an even stronger foundation for success! 🌟

Entrepreneurship is more than starting a business—it’s about creating opportunities, building financial stability, and giving people the tools and connections they need to turn an idea into something sustainable.

Through programs like Inspire:ME Spartanburg and Start:ME Spartanburg, NDG supports entrepreneurs at different stages of their journey.

Because when local entrepreneurs have the opportunity to grow, the entire community benefits.

💛 Every neighborhood is stronger because of the people who bring others together.

From keeping your community clean, educating people about a particular topic, or bringing people together to create supportive communities, those who weave our community together are needed and always appreciated.

Do you know someone who goes out of their way to create connections, organize neighbors, or make Spartanburg a more welcoming place? Through our partnership with Weave: The Social Fabric Project, individuals making a difference can receive up to $5,000 in awards and resources to continue building community.

Whether you're a weaver yourself or know someone who is, now is the time to apply or submit a nomination.
