In observance of Juneteenth, our offices will be closed on Friday, June 19 as we honor the emancipation of enslaved African Americans and reflect on the ongoing journey toward freedom, equity, and opportunity for all.

Juneteenth is a time to celebrate resilience, recognize history, and uplift the contributions of Black communities that continue to shape our nation and neighborhoods.

Our office will resume normal business hours on the following business day.

As we celebrate this important day, we encourage everyone to take time to learn, reflect, celebrate, and engage with their community. And be sure to look out for some of our staff at the Juneteenth celebrations throughout the city all weekend.

Our annual block party is one of our favorite events to host in the community, mainly because of how we are able to bring so many people together.

Cut violent crime by 77%
Raise 3rd-grade reading proficiency from 6% to 48%
Build hundreds of units of new housing
Open a new community center
Create a state-of-the-art early learning center

We’re thrilled to share that applications for the Weaver Awards are now open! This partnership with and the Aspen Institute will help us celebrate and support the everyday neighbors who are building trust, belonging, and connection right here in our community.

A local advisory group will select 20 recipients to receive $2,500 to $5,000 each and resources to support their work to foster connection. We can’t wait to help shine a light on the people who make our community stronger.
