The new alleyway and bus drop-off area at Mountain View looks great. Each day is running smoother with the busses, Prairie Hills Transit, and daycare vans. The teachers review travel plans with the students but it is always good to review at home as well. Thank you to the parents who are keeping clear of the area where the students walk out of the school with their teachers at the end of the day so teachers can safely get students onto the playground to dismiss. Shoutout to school board president Nathan Hoogshagen for taking the aerial photograph for us on short notice!

The careers of tomorrow require innovation today. Spearfish School District strives to create opportunities that inspire student career exploration and the development of important skills with our students. The Career and Technical Education Center (CTE) of SHS does just that through our robust and innovative programming.

Today, Superintendent Nick Gottlob, District officials and the SHS CTE staff and students hosted Senate Majority Leader John Thune to discuss critical educational policy and programs, and tour our CTE Center. Senator Thune toured the automotive shop, welding and fabrication, construction and building trades, and medical sciences programs where he met students, and discussed the world class facilities and opportunities right here in the Spearfish School District. Thank you Senator Thune for your support!!
