It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our good friend and Chief of the Piseco Volunteer Fire Department, Steve Woehrle.

Many members of our Fire and EMS family have had the privilege of serving and training alongside Chief Woehrle at fire scenes, motor vehicle accidents, and countless other emergency incidents over the years. He was a dedicated public servant who cared deeply about his community, his department, and everyone he served.

Steve's leadership, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to helping others earned him the respect and admiration of all who had the privilege of working alongside him. His passing is a tremendous loss, not only to the Piseco Volunteer Fire Department, but to the entire Southern Hamilton County emergency services family.

On behalf of the Speculator Volunteer Fire Department, we extend our deepest condolences to Steve's family, friends, and the members of the Piseco Volunteer Fire Department during this difficult time. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone mourning his loss.

Rest easy, Chief. Thank you for your years of dedicated service to your community. Your watch has ended, but your legacy will continue to inspire all those who answer the call.

With April being National Volunteer Month we thought it would be appropriate to post last years department photo even though we only had half of the members available at the time the picture was taken....

Although the members of SVFD are volunteers, their commitment to the communities that we cover is second to none...with or without a pay check at the end of the week.

If you happen to see one of the members this month, thank them for their service.

We have some new members already this year who we hope will be active members of the department and will be able to make this years department picture.

Speculator Volunteer Fire Department wish our entire community a safe and happy Thanksgiving.

We hope to see everyone at the holiday stroll on Friday, 1-5PM.

SVFD will be helping out with chauffeuring a very special visitor around the Village, so dress warm, get outside and keep your eyes open.
