The Spelter Volunteer Fire Department has been protecting the citizens of Spelter and surrounding communities since 1951. The Spelter Volunteer Fire Department responds to an average of 350 - 450 calls annually. Those calls for help occur throughout the 32 square miles that make up Spelter and surrounding communities along with assisting our mutual aid companies. It is our endeavor to deliver the

highest level of fire protection, rescue, and medical care, including advance life support. As a customer driven organization, it is our number one priority and privilege to serve and protect our communities 24 hours a day 365 days a year.

The West Fork River is currently around the 17ft mark. Once the river reaches approximately 19ft it will be in the road near Limestone. Lower Lamberts Run near Shinnston Pike is currently under water as well.

The Spelter VFD regrets to have to announce we have to cancel the Elimination Dinner, that was set for this weekend. April 11,2026.
