Ambassadors visited Trinity Preschool/Daycare and Trinity Lutheran Church - Spencer IA on Tuesday for the Grand Opening & Ribbon Cutting of their Infant & Toddler Care! Director Jody Kleve and Pastor Renae Behrends said their preschool and daycare center has been in operation for over 40 years and, after identifying a need in the community, added infant care—which opened just this week. The center currently has 80 children enrolled, with a capacity for 88 and is open 6:00 AM – 5:30 PM.

Through resources from the Chamber and other organizations, Trinity was able to rebuild after the flood, renovating the basement and filling the classrooms for the infants and toddlers. Pastor Renae thanked the entire community, members of the church council, and wanted to extend a special thank you to First Congregational Church of Spencer, IA who took on all their daycare kids from June 2024-February 2025 after the flood. Congrats!

Ambassadors visited Clay County Heritage yesterday for the Grand Opening of their Clay County 175th Anniversary Exhibit! Interim Executive Director Susan Christensen and volunteers have been working closely with all the communities in Clay County to put together an exhibit spanning the history of the county over the last 175 years. Each town will have a feature that includes a write-up of its history, photos, and artifacts from that area. The exhibit will be open through August 2027—Admission is free and the gallery is handicapped-accessible.
