On Friday, students wrapped up their study of the butterfly life cycle with a butterfly release. After observing each stage of metamorphosis, they enjoyed watching their butterflies take flight.

This week on Tuesday, we celebrated Bus Driver Appreciation Day, and we want to take a moment to recognize our incredible bus drivers! 🚌💛

Our bus drivers are truly the unsung heroes of our school community. Every day, they show up with care, patience, and dedication to make sure our students arrive safely to and from school. Through early mornings, long afternoons, and all kinds of weather, they are a steady, reliable presence our students can count on.

They do so much more than drive a bus—they build relationships, offer kindness, and create a welcoming start and end to each child’s day. Their impact reaches far beyond the road.

We are so thankful for our amazing bus drivers and all the care they put into what they do. Spencer appreciates you! 💛

She is truly a rock for Spencer, providing the structure, clarity, and foundation that help our students and staff succeed every single day. Her leadership is steady, thoughtful, and full of purpose, and it shows in the pride we all feel being part of this community.

Coming home with students this week is our May calendar. Here is a May events flyer so families can easily see everything happening at Spencer Elementary as we wrap up the school year. Second grade brought economics to life in the most engaging way this week! 💡💰

Our students became young entrepreneurs as they designed their own products, created pricing, and set up shops to sell their items. From brainstorming ideas to making decisions about cost and value, they experienced what it means to run a business firsthand.

Students and teachers from around the school came to shop, giving our second graders the opportunity to practice real-world skills like communication, money management, and problem-solving. There were lots of smiles, creative products, and meaningful learning happening at every table!

We are so proud of our students for their hard work, creativity, and collaboration. Experiences like this help build confidence and show that learning goes far beyond the classroom. 💙💛
