Spencer-Owen Community Schools is pleased to announce the anticipated appointment of Mrs. Kris Samick as Principal of Patricksburg Elementary School for the 2026-2027 school year.
Mrs. Samick has served as the school's Interim Principal during the 2025-2026 school year, where she has demonstrated a strong commitment to students, staff, and families while providing steady leadership and support throughout the school community.
The selection follows a thorough review of valuable feedback solicited from the Patricksburg Elementary staff. Stakeholders consistently emphasized the importance of a principal who is visible, approachable, compassionate, and committed to building strong relationships with students, families, and staff. They also expressed a desire for a leader who communicates openly, promotes collaboration, supports teachers, and creates a positive and nurturing learning environment.
Mrs. Samick's leadership throughout the past year has reflected these qualities. Her dedication to students, commitment to family engagement, and focus on creating a welcoming school culture have earned the trust and respect of the Patricksburg community. Staff members have appreciated her visibility throughout the building, her willingness to listen, and her efforts to celebrate the accomplishments of both students and employees.

The Board of School Trustees is expected to consider Kris Samick as the next Principal of Patricksburg Elementary School at its upcoming meeting on June 11th. Upon approval, Mrs. Samick will officially begin her role on July 1st.
