π£ Calling all Grant Writers: Are you ready to take the next steps in your grant writing journey? On Friday, July 24, 2026, the Roane County Economic Development Authority, the Roane County 911 Office of Emergency Services, and the Mid-Ohio Valley Regional Council will host the WV Grant Resource Centers for a free Grants 101 Workshop in Spencer!
This comprehensive workshop, developed and led by the Grant Centersβ staff, will guide participants through each critical step of the pre-award process, including:
β Seeking and Finding Grants
β Writing a Strong Grant Proposal
β Building and Maximizing Community Partnerships
β Developing a Budget and Budget Narrative
β Identifying Matching Funds
β Thinking Like a Reviewer
β Getting Grant Ready

The Grants 101 Workshop is a comprehensive training program from the West Virginia Grant Resource Centers that guides participants through each critical step of the pre-award process.
Developed and presented by the Grant Centers, these workshops aim to help West Virginia communities, organizations, and other eligible entities grow their grant writing and application assembly skills.
This Training is Recommended For:
West Virginia communities, nonprofits, businesses, and other eligible entities who are interested in engaging with the grant writing process. No prior grant writing experience is required.

Participants can expect to gain a thorough understanding of the grant writing process and elevate their grant writing and application assembly skills.
About the West Virginia Grant Resource Centers:
The West Virginia Grant Resource Centers are a free grant writing and training resource that assists West Virginia communities, nonprofits, and eligible applications with developing competitive proposals to support their economic, community, and workforce development projects. Since launching in 2023, the Grant Centers have assisted clients with securing more than $53 million in project funding. The Grant Centers are a joint partnership between Marshall University and West Virginia University.
