Our students turned into mini-scientists thanks to a fantastic "Mad Mixtures" presentation from the Grout Museum! 🧪

They explored the wild world of chemistry and learned all about the differences between solids, liquids, and gases through some truly exciting experiments.

Our 2nd grade students had a special visit from the Sioux Falls Zoomobile! 🐍 🐢

Tigers got up close and personal with some amazing creatures, including a bearded dragon, a hognose snake, and a tortoise!

Learning came to life for our 2nd graders during their visit to Bertram Reservation!

Students put their science knowledge into action by creating tree shelters, discovering insects, building a 3D map, and participating in a nature scavenger hunt. 🌿

These Tigers were able to transfer what they learned in science class throughout the year to real-world observations and activities. It was a great day of exploration, discovery, and hands-on learning outdoors!

A big thank you to CF Industries, Spencer, for awarding teachers participating in this year’s Classroom Mini-Grant program!

This is the second group of grants teachers have received from CF Industries this year. Teachers pictured left to right: Brandy Kirschbaum, Ashley Roberts, Christy Peircy and Amanday Mathis. Not pictured: Shanna Kissinger Erdman and Missy Burns.

Projects awarded include: Animal Habitat Science, Farming Sciences, Plant and Recycling Sciences, Pollinator Sciences and Weather/Season Science.

As part of our science and social studies curriculum, students learned how nature shapes the world around us. What better way to understand landforms than to see, touch, and experience them in our own backyard?
