Felony Indictments ranging from Mfg/Sell/ Del/Poss of Drugs & Narcotics to Financial Exploitation of an Elderly/Vulnerable Person were handed down. The following have been served. More to come…

Happy National Nurse Appreciation to LPN Kevin Jones! Jones, an employee of Cumberland Family Medical Care for 13 years, serves as the Facility Nurse for the Van Buren County Jail. Jones began his career in nursing when he was 19 years old. His path of service can be traced through work at the CFMC clinics & offices, nursing homes, and schools. Jones has become a valued member of the team at the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office & Jail. Thank you Nurse Kevin Jones for your dedicated service!

Congratulations on your retirement, thank you for your service, & happy birthday Sgt. Kevin Bivins! We appreciate you & wish you the best!

Kevin Bivins began his service in Van Buren County with the Cedar Grove Volunteer Fire Department where he continues to serve. In 2001, Bivins worked in the role of Dispatcher and then transitioned in Corrections with the Van Buren Sheriff’s Office. During his 21 years and 5 months of employment with the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office & Jail, Bivins filled the roles of Corrections Officer, Corporal, Facility Training Officer, Sergeant, and Jail Administrator while serving during terms of former Sheriffs Donnie Evans, Barney Evans, Eddie Carter, and current Sheriff Michael J. Brock.
