As we wrap up another amazing school year, we want to extend our heartfelt thanks to all of our students and families for your support, partnership, and dedication throughout the year. Together, we have learned, grown, and created memories that will last a lifetime. 💙🩵

We wish everyone a safe, fun, and relaxing summer break and look forward to welcoming you back in the fall!

As a reminder, TDLA is transitioning to a balanced calendar. The first day of school for the 2026-2027 school year will be August 26.

☀️ Field Day Fun! 💦

Our students had a fantastic time celebrating the end of the school year with a well-deserved Field Day! Although it was a hot and sunny day, everyone made the most of it with games, activities, laughter, and plenty of water fun to help keep cool.

Thank you to our staff and volunteers who helped make the day such a success. It was the perfect way to wrap up another amazing school year!

¡Nuestros estudiantes se divirtieron muchísimo celebrando el final del año escolar con un merecido Día de Campo! Aunque fue un día caluroso y soleado, todos aprovecharon al máximo los juegos, las actividades, las risas y, especialmente, los juegos de agua para refrescarse.

Gracias a nuestro personal y a los voluntarios que ayudaron a hacer de este día todo un éxito. ¡Fue la manera perfecta de cerrar otro increíble año escolar!

We celebrate our incredible 8th grade students as they reach the important milestone of graduation! 🎓✨

We are especially proud that many of our students are graduating with their Seal of Biliteracy, a testament to their hard work, dedication, and commitment to becoming bilingual and biliterate learners.

This class holds a special place in our hearts as the very first graduating class of TDLA! Their leadership, perseverance, and accomplishments have helped shape our school community and create a lasting legacy.

As they move on to high school, we wish them continued success, happiness, and growth in all their future endeavors. Once an axolotl, always an axolotl! 💙🩵

🏃‍♂️☀️ What a fantastic kickoff to our end-of-the-year celebrations! 🎉 A huge THANK YOU to all the families who joined us for our Fun Run and Family Picnic! 🧺❤️ We loved seeing so many smiling faces, and our students ran their hearts out to help raise funds for our school. 💙💛 Thank you for your support and school spirit! 🎽👏

The fun isn’t over yet! 🌟 Coming up this Wednesday is our Talent Show 🎤✨, followed by Field Day 🏅🎈 next Monday as we count down to the last day of school on Tuesday! 🎓☀️

📣 Our elementary cheer team wrapped up an amazing first season, and we couldn’t be prouder of these athletes! A special thank you to Ms. Rodriguez for coaching and leading our very first cheer season. Your dedication and enthusiasm helped make this inaugural year such a success!

We’re already looking forward to next year and would love to see even more students join the team. Elementary cheer will be open next spring to students entering 2nd through 4th grade. Go ajolotes! 📣💙

📣 ¡Nuestro equipo de porristas de primaria terminó una increíble primera temporada, y no podríamos estar más orgullosos de estos atletas! Un agradecimiento especial a la Srta. Rodriguez por entrenar y liderar nuestra primera temporada de porristas. ¡Su dedicación y entusiasmo ayudaron a que este primer año fuera todo un éxito!

Mrs. Stombaugh’s 7th and 8th grade students celebrated their love of reading with a “Literature Parade,” creating miniature floats representing a character, scene, or important element from their independently read novel. Students also wrote parade scripts sharing information about the story’s theme, point of view, and internal and external conflicts. Our middle schoolers showed so much creativity and thoughtful work—we hope you enjoy a glimpse of their learning!

Our second-grade students have spent the last few months learning about life cycles in nature and animals, and recently began studying insects. 🐛🦋 Over the past few weeks, students helped raise butterflies and were finally able to release them! It was a fun, exciting, and magical experience that brought their learning to life.

After spending the school year writing pen pal letters, our fourth-grade students finally had the opportunity to meet their fellow pen pals from Frances Scott Elementary School in person! ✉️🌳 Students gathered at the park to enjoy lunch, conversation, and fun together. It was a wonderful way to celebrate the friendships and connections they built throughout the year!

Our students have already raised an amazing $2,940 online—and that doesn't include the pledge forms that have not yet been turned in! Thank you to all of our families, friends, and community members who have supported our students.
The Fun Run and Picnic will take place this Friday, June 5th, and we can't wait to celebrate together! There is still time to help us reach our goal by collecting those final donations and turning in pledge forms.
