Wondering about after school childcare? Take advantage of this great partnership we have with the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center - they pick up our kids at school and take them to the center for daily after school programming!

Looking for the perfect blend of learning, creativity, and fun after the school bell rings? Enrollment is officially OPEN for our Afterschool Program!

We give students a safe, energetic space to grow, make friends, and thrive.

What we offer:
• Homework Help: Dedicated time to tackle assignments or work on skill building with helpful instructors.
• STEM & Creative Arts: Hands-on science experiments and art projects.
• Active Play: Group games and outdoor activities to burn off extra energy.
• Healthy Snacks: Nutritious fuel provided every day.

Days: Monday – Friday

LITTLE SLUGGERS: Registration for our PreK-2nd grade T-ball program with Spokane Indians Youth Baseball & Softball closes Aug. 13, but waitlist registrations will be accepted as long as space is available on teams!

Teams are formed based on neighborhood elementary school so kids can learn baseball fundamentals and teamwork with their peers.

COME TOGETHER: Hundreds of representatives from dozens of organizations gathered at Shadle Park High School this morning with a single goal: supporting families impacted by the Spokane Complex Wildfires.

Spokane Public Schools superintendent Adam Swinyard and Innovia Foundation CEO Shelly O'Quinn convened the assembly of government agencies, nonprofit organizations, faith community leaders, health care providers, educators and many other entities engaged in fire recovery efforts.

FREE DAY CAMP EXTENDED: The free emergency drop-in camp for children ages 4 and older at Shadle Park High School (4327 N. Ash St.) will be available every day this week, Aug. 3-7, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

This is intended to give parents and caregivers impacted by wildfires a safe place for their children while they take a break, run errands, or address other immediate needs. Children do not need to be enrolled in Spokane Public Schools or live within SPS boundaries to attend.

Lunch will be provided at noon through the federal free summer meals program. Activities will be supervised by Spokane Public Schools staff. Families can also access a clothing closet and connect with resources like HEART and CHAS Health.
