Since 1903, YWCA Spokane has been helping women and children overcome social, economic, and personal barriers in order to accomplish their goals and achieve healthier and more fulfilling lives. Today our areas of focus are supporting victims of intimate partner violence (IPV), building economic empowerment, promoting early childhood education, and confronting racial and social justice issues that

negatively impact our clients and our community. YWCA Spokane envisions a community in which IPV is no longer tolerated, and embraces this vision through a continuum of wrap-around services: 24-hour Helpline and Safe Shelter, Advocacy Support Center, Mental Health Services, Child Advocacy, Civil Legal Assistance, Legal Advocacy, Economic Empowerment Advocacy, and free Drop-In Childcare. YWCA Spokane impacted the lives of over 14,000 women, men, children, and families each year. Pictured is Opal Lee, known as the Grandmother of Juneteenth. After learning that enslaved people in Texas were not informed of their freedom until June 19, 1865—more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation—Lee dedicated much of her life to ensuring this history would not be forgotten. Her advocacy, education efforts, and cross-country walks helped build awareness of Juneteenth and contributed to its recognition as a federal holiday in 2021.

It is a day to honor the resilience, strength, and contributions of Black Americans while reflecting on the unfinished work of creating a more just and equitable society. This year, YWCA Spokane was proud to join thousands of community members, advocates, allies, and partners at Spokane Pride . We were especially honored to march alongside our partners at Kalispel Tribe Victim Services and Spokane Domestic Violence Coalition, a meaningful reminder that building a stronger, more inclusive community requires collaboration, shared commitment, and collective action.

We're so grateful to Spokane Pride and the many volunteers whose dedication made this year's celebration possible. On Saturday, we had the honor of attending, tabling, and speaking at the Sativa Transue Memorial 5K in Cheney. Almost five years after Sativa was killed by her then-boyfriend, the community gathers to remember her and remind survivors everywhere that they are not alone. Thank you to the EWU Exercise Science Club for hosting this annual event and supporting our programs!

💼 1. HR Coordinator (Full-Time, Hourly)
The Impact: Support day-to-day operations, keep recruitment and onboarding seamless, and build a supportive, inclusive staff culture.
Pay Range: $26.35 - $31.61/hour
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm

🤝 2. Shelter Co-Manager (Full-Time, Hourly)
The Impact: Lead a dedicated frontline team, manage shelter facilities and grant compliance, and collaborate through a unique shared-leadership model.
Pay Range: $31.99 - $39.99/hour
Schedule: Four 10-hour shifts (generally Wednesday - Saturday)

💜 3. Shelter Advocate (Full-Time, Hourly)
The Impact: Answer our 24/7 helpline, greet new families during shelter intake, and provide immediate safety planning and emotional support.
Base Pay: $21.77 - $26.12/hour (+ shift differentials)
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 11am - 7pm

💛 4. Shelter Relief Advocate (Part Time, Hourly)
The Impact: Step in to provide critical helpline and shelter coverage on your own schedule.
Base Pay: $21.77 - $26.12/hour (+ shift differentials)
Schedule: Part-time (hours as needed), flexible

✨ Job Perks:
Bilingual Pay Premium: Earn an extra +$3/hour if you use a qualifying second language at work!
Night Shift Premium: Earn an extra +$5/hour for applicable shelter night shifts!
