New support for parents is coming to Partners with Families & Children!

We’re excited to share that members of our Behavioral Health team are being trained to offer The Incredible Years, Inc.® Parenting Program—an evidence-based program designed to help parents build strong, positive relationships with their children while strengthening social, emotional, and behavioral skills.

The Incredible Years program gives parents practical strategies to:

✔️ Strengthen parent-child relationships
✔️ Encourage positive behaviors
✔️ Build children's emotional and social skills
✔️ Establish healthy routines and positive discipline techniques
✔️ Increase confidence in parenting through support and connection with other families

Adding The Incredible Years to our Behavioral Health services is another way we're investing in prevention, healing, and stronger families throughout our community.

Back-to-school nerves, or something more?

As kids across Spokane head back to school this month, a few first-day jitters are completely normal. New teachers, new routines, new faces. For most kids, that nervousness eases within a week or two as they settle in.

Sometimes, though, the worry runs deeper. A few signs to watch out for may be more than ordinary nerves:

1. Their nerves don't fade. Anxiety that lingers past the first two or three weeks, or gets worse instead of better.
2. Their body shows it. Frequent stomachaches, headaches, trouble sleeping, or appetite changes with no medical cause.
3. They pull away from you. Losing interest in friends or activities they used to love, or noticeable shifts in mood or behavior.

You know your child best. If something feels off, reaching out isn't overreacting. Early support helps kids feel steady again.

Because of your generosity, Partners with Families & Children was selected to participate in the Target Circle Community Giving Program, and thanks to thousands of votes from our incredible community, we received $4,548.26 to support our mission.

Every vote represented someone who believes that children and families deserve safety, healing, and hope. Your support helps us continue preventing, interrupting, and repairing cycles of abuse and neglect through programs that strengthen children, families, and our community.
