The City of Spokane has lowered demolition fees to a flat rate for buildings damaged in the Spokane Complex Fire. Other possible reforms include adopting a “like-for-like” code to expedite reviews for buildings in the same location and allowing the construction of smaller accessory dwelling units (ADUs) before building a main residential building on the property.
