🎶❤️ FEEL GOOD FRIDAY ❤️🎶

This week, 28 children, teens, and chaperones traveled to California to represent The Salvation Army Spokane at a Territorial Music Competition.

We are incredibly proud to share that our Singing Company (children's choir) earned 1st Place, while our Youth Ensemble (ages 11–18) earned 2nd Place at the territorial level!

While the awards were exciting, the most meaningful moments happened away from the stage.

One evening, four of our young adult leaders gathered with the younger girls at the house. One of the young women, who is currently attending cosmetology school, brought colored hair tinsel and taught the others how to install it in the younger girls' hair. As they worked together, laughter filled the room and songs began to break out naturally.

Before long, someone picked up a ukulele and the entire group was singing together.

In that moment, it wasn't about trophies or competitions. It was about connection, mentorship, friendship, and belonging.

Music is the universal bridge that unites this group. It creates lasting friendships, fosters confidence, and builds a community where young people feel seen, valued, and loved.

Congratulations to our talented young musicians, and thank you to the leaders and mentors who invest in their lives every day. ❤️

Warrior Wednesday Prayer Request

Today we invite you to join us in praying for the guests of The Way-Out Center.
Please pray that God would open doors for employment opportunities for those who are actively seeking work. Many of our guests are facing challenges finding stable, verifiable employment, which is a critical step toward long-term independence and housing stability.

We also have a reason to celebrate! In the last two weeks, two individuals have successfully moved out and obtained housing of their own. This is a huge milestone and a testament to the power of perseverance, support, and God's provision.

Please join us in praying:
• For favor and open doors in employment searches.
• For encouragement and hope for those still waiting.
• For continued success and stability for those who have recently secured housing.
• For wisdom and strength for our staff as they walk alongside our guests on their journey.

Thank you for standing with us in prayer. Together, we are helping transform lives through hope, opportunity, and community.

Today is National Donut Day - a tradition that began with The Salvation Army during World War I, when our “Donut Lassies” served homemade donuts to soldiers on the front lines.

Today, The Salvation Army Spokane honored that legacy by serving free donuts to our veterans as a small gesture of gratitude for their service and sacrifice.

So excited to share a little of our history with the community. Donut Day is about SO much more than sprinkles and sugar...

Did you know that National Donut Day began with The Salvation Army?

In 1917, Salvation Army "Donut Lassies" served fresh donuts, encouragement, and prayer to American soldiers on the front lines during World War I. What started as a simple act of compassion became a lasting symbol of gratitude and support for those who serve our country.

As we approach National Donut Day this Friday, we invite you to join us in prayer for our veterans, active-duty military personnel, and first responders.

Heavenly Father,

Today we lift up the men and women who courageously answer the call to protect, defend, and serve others. Strengthen them when they are weary, protect them when they face danger, and encourage them when the burdens they carry feel heavy. We pray for police officers, firefighters, EMTs, paramedics, dispatchers, and all emergency personnel. Grant them wisdom in difficult situations, peace in stressful moments, and safe returns home to their families. We pray for our military members serving near and far. Surround them with Your protection, comfort them when they are away from loved ones, and remind them that they are never alone. We also lift up our veterans. Bless them for their service and sacrifice. Bring healing where there are wounds, hope where there is struggle, and community where there is loneliness. May we never take their service for granted. Help us to be people who honor, encourage, and support those who serve.

In Jesus' name, Amen.
