In a community surrounded by lakes, rivers, and aquatic facilities, knowing how to stay safe around water is an important skill for every kid 💦

Through the Make a Splash in a Kid’s Life program, Spokane Parks Foundation is helping make swim lessons and water safety more accessible, providing 450+ swim lessons and donating more than 1,000 swimsuits to kids this year alone.

And with pool parties sponsored by Molina Healthcare, kids get to put those skills to use while enjoying food and plenty of fun! 🏊‍♀️☀️

Good luck to all the parents getting your kids back on a schedule this week...and yourselves 😅✏️🚌

There are real repercussions of spending time outside in poor air quality- especially for those who have a history of asthma or lung disease. We encourage everyone in Spokane and surrounding areas to be intentional with your time spent outside. Wear a mask until the smoke clears.

AMR Spokane has been here to help our community during the Spokane wildfires. ❤️

During the initial phase of the evacuations, our EMTs and paramedics helped evacuate medically vulnerable residents, supported healthcare facility evacuations, cared for patients at evacuation shelters, and maintained emergency medical coverage across the region. 🚑 🫶

Many team members even volunteered to come in while facing evacuations and wildfire impacts in their own lives.

Thank you to every first responder, healthcare worker, and community partner standing together to keep Spokane safe.

We are advising our community to limit your time outside in Spokane right now. Temperatures are reaching the mid-90s and smoke is still causing unhealthy air quality. Children, older adults, and anyone with heart or lung issues should stay inside during this time.
