📣 Once a Bear, always a Bear! 🏅🏆

We have a massive shoutout to share! Before MERCEDES GILROY was dominant on the national stage, she was walking the halls of Brentwood. Now, she’s officially one of the best youth javelin throwers in the entire country!

Mercedes absolutey crushed it! Check out her stats, they are mind-blowing:

👑 4A WA State Champion: Mercedes dominated the WIAA State Track and Field Championships, taking home 1st place with an incredible winning throw of 147' 3"!

🥉 3rd in the NATION: She took her talents to the Nike Outdoor Nationals and threw a massive 46.48 meters (152' 6") to secure 3rd place in the girls' javelin final!

⭐ 4-Star National Recruit: As part of the Class of 2027, she is officially ranked as a top-tier, four-star national recruits in the country.

We couldn’t more proud to see a former student achieving such greatness through hard work, grit, and dedication. Mercedes, your Brentwood family is cheering you on. We can’t wait to see how far you throw next!

As the buses pull away and summer begins, we want to thank our amazing students, families, and staff for a wonderful year filled with learning, growth, and memories.
