We want to strengthen and revitalize America’s constitutionally guaranteed core values that unite a large majority of Americans. We believe our greatest treasure is Freedom—the absence of restraints on our ability to think and act. It is belief in the individual. Today, based on the circumstances facing the United States and Wisconsin, we have identified the following issues as the most important
to us. Wisconsin
· We encourage proposals to enhance Wisconsin’s job climate such as reducing the tax burden and loosening prohibitive red tape that discourages job growth.
· We encourage fresh thinking to manage spiraling school costs and provide for a fair method of funding our schools. We support a variety of educational options that should not be over-looked. Federal
· We believe our nation’s debt and spending are out of control and reforms are needed in order to curb spending and stop pushing the burden of an expanding government onto the next generation of taxpayers—our children and grandchildren. Both Federal and Wisconsin
· We support proposals to lower the rising costs of health care that can burden many families and employers. We welcome steps to address the underlying problems driving up the cost of health care.
· We oppose both State and Federal mandates as a means to govern. We believe mandates provide a broad authority, which regulate individual rights by taking away rights of lesser governments. We find mandates to be an ineffective means to achieve positive policy changes affecting individuals, businesses and local governments. Finally, we pledge to do our best to hold our elected officials accountable to these values and issues. As one American President stated, “A leader’s ear must ring with the voices of the people.”
