Old Kollers Resort - Spooner Lake WI Built in the 1940's by Slyvester (Sly)and Agnes (Sugar) Koller on a quite 1100 acre Spooner Lake. It became a privately owned condo in 1987.

Sad news I recieved today. Kathy Mork the orginal owner of the "Fishermans Dream" cabin passed away yesterday at her home in Spooner WI. Kathy and Paul Mork are originally from my home town and neighborhood in Champlin Minnesota. They purchased the "Gee Man" in the fall of 1985. They invited our family up to their cabin the summer of 1986 and convinced my parents Roger and Sandy Lee to buy at Kollers Resort. They were like family to us. Sending many prayers to her husband Paul and her sons Bob and Jim Mork. 🙏💔

I purchased these 2 items on eBay. The postcard is of the Wel-Kum Inn originally a one bedroom cabin. Just west of the pool now owned by the Rush Family. The other is the vacation guide that was issued in 1960 ( Kollers/Schmitz era)

I had a awesome phone conversation with Doug Bailey the youngest son of Janey and Wendell Bailey. I learned so much about his family. For example Janey's parents were famous Minnesota Architects. Her mother Dorothy Brink-Ingemann was the first women to graduate from the University of Minnesota School of Architecture. William M Ingemann Architects is known today as BWBR Architects in St. Paul Minnesota. Also sad news, Scott Bailey (Doug's older brother) passed away last June and Wendell last September. He flew to Minnesota on Friday to spread Scott's ashes near his home town of Franconia Minnesota on the Saint Croix river near Taylors Falls. Doug lives in Victoria British Columbia Canada as a Program Director at Starfish Medical.
