Below her name it lists her title as work-based learning coordinator at the Career & technical Center for Spotsylvania County Public Schools. Emily Hall is an experienced counselor with over 24 years of experience in the field. For the first 7 years of her career, Emily was a school counselor. She provided one-on-one counseling services to students, helping from identify their strengths and interests, explore their goals. In 2010, Emily was selected as Virginia's Secondary School Counselor of the year. She then served as the Director of Counseling at Courtland High School for 10 years, where she oversaw the development and implementation of comprehensive counseling programs for students. In this role, she collaborated with teachers, administrators, and parents to ensure students have access to the resources and guidance they need to make informed decisions about their futures. Driven by a passion for helping people navigate their career choices, Emily transitioned into a new role as a Career Development Counselor five years ago. In this role, she developed work-based learning opportunities for all students, supported the districts counselors with academic and career plan development and served the Spotsylvania career and tech center as their school counselor in crisis situations. This year, Emily has transitioned into a new role as the work based learning coordinator for the district. In this role, she continues to grow and enhance the work-based learning opportunities for all students. Throughout her career, Emily has developed a reputation for her compassionate and insightful approach to career development and has also facilitated workshops and presented on various career-related topics at the local, state, and national levels. In whatever role she is serving, Emily is always focused on making a positive impact in the lives of the students she serves.

The Spotsylvania County Visitors Center and Spotsylvania County Museum will be OPEN during regular operating hours, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

On Friday, May 8th the Fredericksburg Regional Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting celebrating the 1 year anniversary of Rinehart Bryant, PLLC.

Established in September 2021, Rinehart Bryant, PLLC was founded by a core team of legal professionals seeking to build a dedicated independent practice. The firm opened its doors with four attorneys and four staff members. Since then, they have expanded their talent pool by adding five attorneys and two administrative professionals. Over five years of serving the Fredericksburg region - including their recent expansion here into Spotsylvania- the firm has steadily grown its regional footprint. Their practice focuses primarily on family law, complemented by targeted criminal defense services.

Sue Venable-Shelton
Director of Career & Technical Education
Spotsylvania County Public Schools
Sue Venable-Shelton is an experienced educator with 30 years in the field of education. She has been a passionate advocate for agricultural education and career and technical education (CTE), having served as an Agricultural Education Instructor and Department Chair for 24 years. During her tenure, she inspired countless students to pursue careers in agriculture and was instrumental in developing innovative curricula, leadership opportunities, and student-centered programs. In addition to her role as an agriculture education instructor, Sue has been an outstanding leader in Career and Technical Education. For 6 years, she served as the Division CTE Liasion, where she worked diligently to strengthen collaboration between CTE programs and academic disciples while expanding opportunities for students. Her visionary leadership and strategic planning contributed to improved student outcomes, increased enrollment, strengthened industry partnerships, and enhanced workforce readiness initiatives across the division. In recognition of her exceptional contributions to CTE, Sue advanced into division leadership and currently serves as the Director of Career and Technical Education for SCPS. In this role, she oversees the development, implementation, and continues improvement of CTE programs across the division, ensuring students are equipped with the academic, technical, and employability skills needed for future success. She is also actively involved in state and regional CTE initiatives, advocating for innovating programming, industry credential attainment, work-based learning opportunities, and equitable access to high-quality Career and Technical Education experiences to all students.
