A Summary of the Nation’s Wildfire Response Stages

The National Multi-Agency Coordination Group (NMAC), made up of wildland fire representatives from each agency at the National Interagency Fire Center, sets Preparedness Levels (PL) to help ensure enough crews, aircraft, and equipment are available for new incidents across the country.

Levels range from 1 (lowest) to 5 (highest), based on fire activity, weather, fuel conditions, and resource availability.

Why it matters: As the Preparedness Levels escalate during the fire year, every prevented wildfire helps keep firefighters, aircraft, and equipment ready for the most urgent needs. Simple choices, like securing chains, extinguishing campfires, and following restrictions, can make a real difference in keeping communities and landscapes safer

Today we recognize International Firefighters’ Day.

This day serves as a reminder of the dedication, professionalism, and sacrifice demonstrated by firefighters in communities around the world. Whether responding to emergencies, supporting public safety efforts, or serving through training and preparedness, firefighters remain committed to protecting life and property.

We are proud to serve our community alongside so many dedicated individuals.

We also extend our sincere appreciation to the families and community members who support us in this mission.

Stay safe. 🚒

Who responds if there's a fire where you live or work? You may picture a city fire station with professionals working a multi-day shift. Outside of our biggest cities, that's not how it works

🚗📵 April is — a reminder that one moment of distraction when driving can change everything. Stay focused. Stay present. Lives depend on it.

We’ve seen a few reports of suspicious activity occurring late at night in our area. While nothing major has been confirmed, Spring City PD has been patrolling the area more frequently. It’s always a good reminder to stay alert and take simple steps to protect yourself and your property.

🔒 Lock your doors and windows before going to bed
💡 Leave exterior lights on or use motion lighting
🚗 Remove valuables from your vehicle and keep it locked
👀 Report any suspicious activity to dispatch right away

Staying aware and looking out for one another helps keep our community safe. If you see something that doesn’t feel right, don’t hesitate to say something.
