This past Sunday, August 23rd, eight of our members had the opportunity to train at an acquired structure that was generously made available to us by Porters Fire Department.
The training focused on several important hands-on skills, including basic forcible entry through a front door, hose line management to the fire room, and coordinated operations with a second crew conducting a primary search for a simulated resident. The crews then worked together to safely extricate the resident from the structure.
All eight members did an outstanding job working together, communicating, and putting their skills to work. Training in an acquired structure provides an opportunity to experience realistic conditions and hopefully learn some new techniques that can make a difference when we are called upon to do the real thing.
A special thank you to Porters Fire Department for sharing the opportunity and the structure with us. We truly appreciate the cooperation and willingness to help us continue to train and improve.
And thank you to Jada Groff for taking pictures and capturing some of the training.
Train hard. Train together. Be ready when the call comes.
