This morning, Company 4 members gathered for valuable hands-on training in an acquired structure alongside our mutual aid partners.

Members participated in two realistic fire scenarios involving an attic fire and a kitchen fire. Throughout the morning, crews worked together to sharpen several essential fireground skills, including:

🚒 Primary search
🧑‍🚒 Victim rescue
🔥 Fire suppression
🪚 Vertical ventilation
🪓 Forcible entry
💨 Positive-pressure ventilation
🪜 Ground ladder placement
💧 Pump operations
🚒 Apparatus placement

Training in an acquired structure provides our members with an invaluable opportunity to practice these skills in a realistic environment while strengthening teamwork, communication, and coordination on the fireground.

We are extremely grateful to our friends and mutual aid partners at the Porters Fire Company for hosting today’s training and to all of their volunteers who dedicated their time to making it possible.

Days like today reinforce the importance of continually training, improving our skills, and building strong working relationships with our neighboring departments.
