The City of Spring Hill hosted emergency management professionals from across the state for a daylong training centered on software that the City uses in daily operations.

Emergency Management Director Greg Boyd, alongside other instructors, facilitated lessons and exercises centered around Team Awareness Kit. TAK is a free program available through the Department of War that Spring Hill and other emergency management agencies utilize for emergency preparedness planning.

TAK allows agencies from wide ranges of jurisdictions to use one common system and program when responding to an event. See how Spring Hill is utilizing this program, and some of the highlights from our training session, in this video!

This week, Spring Hill Emergency Management Director Greg Boyd taught the city's first ever Emergency Management training session, hosting state, regional, and local officials from agencies across Tennessee.

More than 50 EM professionals gathered at the Spring Hill Police Department headquarters on Thursday to learn about Team Awareness Kit (TAK) — a free program available through the Department of War that Spring Hill and other emergency management agencies utilize for emergency preparedness planning. It allows agencies from wide ranges of jurisdictions to use one common system and program when responding to an event.

Participants in Thursday's class got hands-on opportunities with TAK in the classroom and also put their skills to test in the field, learning how drones interact with the software and learning best practices with aerial intelligence.

With our experienced staff, and our upgraded facilities, Spring Hill now has the ability to be a destination for these trainings, allowing us and our neighbors to become better prepared in the event of emergencies. Great work by Director Boyd and the rest of our public safety staff!
