Jennifer Jenkins, the new director of the Spring Hill Public Library will talk about what the library is doing to meet the needs of the vibrant Spring Hill community at the meeting of the Friends of the Spring Hill Library on Thursday, Sept. 3. The meeting will take place at the library.
Come at 5:30 to meet with your friends, the presentations will begin at 5:45 pm.
Also, the meeting with showcase the organizations's many Fall events including Quarterly Book Sale, Feed to Read, Chili Cook-Off, and Maker's Market.

The Friends of the Spring Hill Public Library join hearts across Tennessee and around the world in mourning the loss of our Dolly.

To us, she was more than an international icon. She was OUR Dolly. She was a Tennessee girl who never forgot where she came from, who carried the warmth of home wherever she went, and who made us proud not only because of what she accomplished, but because of the goodness, generosity, and love with which she accomplished it.

Through Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, she placed books into the hands of millions of children and opened doors to worlds they had never visited, people they had never met, and dreams they had not yet imagined. She understood that giving a child a book is also giving that child possibility, confidence, curiosity, and hope.

Dolly was light and goodness in a world that often needs more of both. She taught us to look at life through the pages of a book and the melody of a song. There we would find beauty in humble beginnings, strength in our own stories, and joy in sharing our gifts with others.

To Dolly’s family, we offer our deepest sympathy and our heartfelt gratitude. Thank you for sharing her with Tennessee and with the world. We know that the person the world loved belonged first to you, and we are profoundly grateful for every song, every story, every smile, and every bit of love she shared with us.

And to Dolly: thank you for the extraordinary gift you gave us all. Thank you for the music, the laughter, the books, and the light. Your love and legacy will live on in every child who opens a book and discovers that anything is possible.

Did you know that The Well Outreach goes above and beyond to serve the needs of not only humans but also food-insecure pets in our community? 🐾 Our innovative Feed to Read program is a wonderful opportunity for you to make a difference in the lives of both people and pets! When you attend our October Book Sale, we invite you to consider bringing two types of donations: human food to stock our pantry shelves and pet food to support our furry friends in need. By doing so, you'll be helping to combat food insecurity and bring joy to those who need it most. Our furry friends will thank you, and so will their human companions! 🙏

Support your child's langauge and reading journey from the very beginning by signing up for Dolly Parton's Imagination Library. The Imagination Library is a book-gifting program that mails free books to children. Children under the age of five living in Josephine County qualify to receive a book by mail, at no cost to their families, every month until their fifth birthday thanks to sponsorship from the Grants Pass Rotary Club.

Sunday, Aug. 9 is National Book Lovers Day. One way to celebrate this special day is to gather up the books that you have read and bring them to the Spring Hill Public Library.
The books will get new readers and you will support the Friends of the Spring Hill Library. All proceeds from the sales of books and puzzles go to support the new Spring Hill Library. You
must be able to bring the donations to the front desk and you can receive a receipt for your donations
The picture is of a recent quarterly book sale featuring books donated by the community. Thanks so much to everyone who donates books.
The next quarterly book sale will take place on Saturday, Oct. 24 from 9 am to 3 pm.

Excited Edit: We are fully booked. We have a waiting list. Attention local artisans, a limited number of booth spaces have opened for the Maker’s Market on November 7th. Applications for booth space will be accepted through August 14th.

Not sure what my answer would be? I have read so many great books.
I so enjoyed reading to my daughter when she was small - a very long time ago. 'One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish' by Dr Seuss was one of our favorites. Now one of my favorite T-shirts features the book. And in my car there a copy of that book in my back seat.
What is your choice?
