Help us reunite this friendly feline with its family!

This cute and affectionate visitor showed up at the back door of City Hall and appears to be comfortable around people. We believe it may belong to someone in the Laurels or Summer Meadows subdivisions.

If this is your cat or you recognize it, please contact us or City Hall so we can help get this little friend back home.

Yesterday, we held our first annual In-House Officer Development Class for personnel who currently serve as acting officers, as well as those preparing for future leadership opportunities.

While responding to emergencies is a critical part of the job, it represents only a portion of the responsibilities carried by officers and acting officers during a shift. This class focused on many of the leadership and administrative duties that occur behind the scenes, including incident reporting, workers' compensation and FMLA processes, training responsibilities, crew development, motivation, communication, and decision-making.

Last Saturday, we had a tremendous time at Experience Spring Hill! It was great meeting so many members of our community, sharing fire safety information, and showing off the Ladder Truck.
Thank you to everyone who stopped by and visited with us throughout the day.
A big shout out to our Communications Department, who put in a tremendous amount of work behind the scenes to make this event a success for all of the city departments that participated. We appreciate everything they do for our community!

The past two weeks have been very exciting for seven of our personnel as they reached a significant milestone in their fire service careers. Each firefighter received their leather helmet front, marking the successful completion of their probationary period.

Please join us in congratulating Firefighters Dylan Shepard, Seth Large, Justin Dome, Ben McMahon, Olivia Jacobs, Justin Arrieta, and Luke Anderson on this achievement.

This week's Employee Spotlight features Firefighter Justin Arrieta.

Justin started with the department on July 7, 2025, and is currently assigned to Engine 62 B-Shift. He would like to give a shout-out to his wife Eliza, and daughter, Lennon, for all of their support.

When asked what drew him to the fire service, Justin shared that he was looking for a stable career to support his family. Having always felt a strong connection to the City of Spring Hill and recognizing how much the city has given to him over the years, he wanted the opportunity to give back to the community he calls home.

If Justin could choose any meal, it would be a loaded breakfast burrito paired with fresh orange juice.

Over the next year, Justin plans to continue improving his skills and becoming the best firefighter possible while working toward obtaining his Advanced EMT (AEMT) certification.

Outside of the firehouse, Justin enjoys camping, fishing, spending time at the lake, running, and club dancing with his wife.

One thing his coworkers may not know about him is that he can wakeboard with the best of them.
