This Sunday The Lower Gwynedd Township Police Community Response Unit had a busy and fruitful day. We had our last Kona with Cops event during the townships kids concert in the morning. It was a wonderful event and we had a great turnout!

Then in the afternoon we again teamed up with Giant Spring House for a fill a cop car event. We were able to donate thanks to so many 995 pounds of food and other goods to The Mattie N. Dixon Community Cupboard, Inc. in Ambler. Many thanks to Giant and all of the wonderful people who donated!

Officer Sharkey and Officer Knowles were at The Little Gym in Spring House last evening for a Cookie with Cops event. The event was sponsored by Gerhards Appliance and we thank them for their continued support! We moved the event inside due to the heavy rain that rolled in as the event started but a great time was had by all!

Chief Kenny and the members of The Lower Gwynedd Township Police were sad to learn of the passing of Sgt. Wagner and share in the sadness of his fellow co workers, family, and friends. Please keep him and his family in your hearts and prayers. Rest in Peace Sgt. Wagner we have it from here.

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Sergeant Lee Wagner who died unexpectedly following a sudden medical emergency on August 19, 2026.

Sergeant Wagner served the Montgomery Township Police Department with distinction for 16 years. Throughout his career, Sergeant Wagner was known for unwavering dedication to the community, commitment to fellow officers, and professionalism in service to others.

Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with Sergeant Wagner’s family, loved ones, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time. We ask that the privacy of the family be respected as they grieve this tremendous loss.

Sergeant Wagner will be remembered not only for the badge he proudly wore, but for the lives touched through a career dedicated to protecting and serving others. He believed in putting others before himself, stepping up when others would not, and choosing to provide, protect, and love with his whole heart.

He is survived by his wife and four children, who were the center of his life. Those wishing to assist the Wagner family during this difficult and heartbreaking time can make a donation through Fund the First or the Montgomery County Hero Fund.

This past week Officer Sharkey from our Community Unit attended The Pennsylvania State Police Troop K Camp Cadet that was held at The Hope for Kids camp in Schwenksville. The week long camp gives young cadets aged 11 to 15 a once in a lifetime opportunity to see what it takes to become a police officer. It was a long hard week for the cadets who would stay at the camp from Sunday thru Friday. Congratulations to all the cadets that survived a tough hot week and graduated!
