In Loving Memory of Howie Dombroski Sr.

It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our beloved crossing guard, Howie Dombroski Sr., on June 20, 2026.

Since joining the Spring Lake Heights community in 2013, Howie became much more than a crossing guard, he was a familiar face, a trusted friend, and a source of comfort for countless students, parents, and residents. His warm smile, kind words, and unwavering dedication helped keep our children safe every school day.

In recognition of his extraordinary commitment to our schools and community, Howie was honored with the New Jersey School Boards Association Unsung Superheroes in Education Award in 2024. His impact, however, extended far beyond the crosswalk. He devoted countless hours serving as a Little League umpire and basketball official, mentoring young athletes and exemplifying sportsmanship, fairness, and integrity.

Howie’s legacy will live on through the many lives he touched and the positive example he set for all who knew him.

On behalf of the Spring Lake Heights community, we extend our deepest condolences to the Dombroski family, his friends, and everyone fortunate enough to have known him.

Thank you, Howie, for your years of service, dedication, and friendship. You will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Last night at the Spring Lake Heights Borough Council meeting, we were proud to formally swear in Patrolman Luke McGill and Patrolwoman Madison Noon as members of the Spring Lake Heights Police Department.

Surrounded by their family, friends, borough officials, and fellow officers, both officers took the oath of office and began the next chapter of their law enforcement careers serving the residents of Spring Lake Heights.

We congratulate Patrolman McGill and Patrolwoman Noon on this important milestone and wish them success as they serve and protect our community with honor, integrity, and professionalism.

Today, the Spring Lake Heights Police Department proudly recognizes and celebrates Sgt. Christopher Bennett as he retires from a distinguished career in law enforcement.

Throughout his years of dedicated service, Sgt. Bennett has demonstrated unwavering commitment, professionalism, and leadership in serving and protecting the residents of Spring Lake Heights. His dedication to public safety, mentorship of fellow officers, and devotion to the community have left a lasting impact on our department and the countless lives he has touched.

Sgt. Bennett’s career is a testament to integrity, hard work, and selfless service. While his presence will be greatly missed, his legacy will continue to inspire those who have had the privilege of serving alongside him.

Congratulations to the 5th graders of on graduating from the L.E.A.D. program with Ptl. Levy! Following the graduation, the students celebrated with a kickball game alongside our officers. Everyone had a great time, and we’re grateful for the positive relationships being built with our students through community policing. Thank you to all who made this program such a success!
