Public Library Announces Library Card Sign Up Month

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Cumberland County Public Library is celebrating Library Card Sign-Up Month throughout September by encouraging residents to discover everything their library has to offer β€” and giving cardholders the chance to win prizes. The campaign is open to Cumberland County residents of all ages. Children under 16 may obtain a library card with a parent or guardian.

Prizes include:
β€’ $200 Visa gift card as the grand prize
β€’ $50 Amazon gift cards, one awarded at each library location
β€’ $25 Walmart gift cards, one awarded at each location

The prize drawing is made possible through the generous support of The Friends of the Cumberland County Library, inc.

"Whether you're signing up for your very first library card, renewing an expired one or already have a current card, this is the perfect time to reconnect with your library," said Public Library Director Heather Hall. "A library card opens the door to books, eBooks, audiobooks, streaming services, technology, lifelong learning and free programs for all ages. During September, it could also help you win a prize."

Residents with a current library card may enter to win by completing the online campaign entry form, or by registering at any of the eight Cumberland County Public Library locations.

Residents who require a new card or need to renew an expired card may visit any library location with photo ID and proof of a Cumberland County address. Once the library card is current, the online campaign entry form may be completed. For card eligibility requirements and additional information, visit the Getting a Library Card webpage.

Library Card Sign-Up Month is a national initiative that celebrates the value of libraries and encourages residents to explore the free resources available with a library card. Cumberland County Public Library offers access to books, eBooks, audiobooks, digital magazines, online learning tools, public computers, Wi-Fi, research databases, educational programs and events for children, teens and adults.
