🚧 Construction Update: Sunset Drive (County Road 51):
Utility crews have completed work on Sunset Drive (County Road 51) between Shoreline Drive (County Road 15) and Shadywood Road (County Road 19) in Spring Park.
Starting next week, we will begin reconstructing the north side of Sunset Drive between Shadywood Road and Dickson Avenue.
Here’s what you can expect:
Starting as early as August 31 -
• Full closure — Sunset Drive will remain closed to through traffic between Shoreline Drive (CR 15) and Shadywood Road (CR 19).
• Intermittent access — Expect varying access between Shadywood Road and Dickson Avenue depending on daily construction activity.
• Roadway preparation — Crews will begin by preparing the roadway surface for reconstruction.
• Underground utility work — Work will move below ground to complete water main, sanitary sewer, and storm sewer improvements.
• Changing access patterns — Access will shift as each phase is completed; residents should anticipate periodic adjustments.
Using Sunset Drive during construction:
If you live, work, or visit a business along or near Sunset Drive, you will have access to your entrance. However, as construction progresses, you may need to approach from the north side or the south side of Sunset Drive.
Driving or biking:
Continue to use Shadywood Road (County Road 19) and Shoreline Drive (County Road 15) as a through traffic detour.
Local access:
Residents: There may be short-term restrictions to your driveway if work is happening directly in front of your property. If your driveway is affected by road construction, the project team will contact you.
Businesses: If construction affects access to a business, we’ll provide an alternative route. Contact the project team if you have any specific concerns.
Walking or rolling:
You will have access to Sunset Drive. Our crews will provide temporary access routes for you to get around the construction area.
