Tonight, our team had an amazing opportunity to head out to Cady Township at Big Dam Farms to complete several hands-on, real-life emergency scenarios, including a near drowning, tree stand accident, UTV accident, e-bike accident, and a cow mauling.

Trainings like these are so foundational for our team. They provide valuable, real-world experience and help us stay prepared, confident, and ready to act quickly and efficiently should the need ever arise.

We couldn’t be more proud of our team and the dedication they continue to show. Nights like tonight are a great reminder of the commitment our members have to learning, improving their skills, and being ready to serve our community when they’re needed most.

A huge thank you to Big Dam Farms, their team, and everyone who helped make tonight possible! We truly appreciate the opportunity to train in realistic environments and continue building our skills as a team.

We are incredibly proud of this team and grateful for the opportunity to serve our community! 🚑💪

Please be advised that we will be conducting a training exercise this evening near Big Dam Farms by the Lousy Creek Landing and the Highland Ridge Campground areas.

🔹 THIS IS ONLY A DRILL 🔹

There is no cause for alarm, this is a planned training to ensure preparedness and safety.

Thank you for your understanding!

This evening, we stepped outside our comfort zones and brought out our competitive sides during our EMS Amazing Race Competition!

Our teams put their knowledge and skills to the test through a series of challenges that focused on medical and trauma care, medications, communication, teamwork, and most importantly having fun together.

Congratulations to **Team Red** for taking home the championship! While they earned the bragging rights, everyone walked away with something even more valuable: the opportunity to practice those low-frequency, high-impact skills that are so important when they matter most.

A huge thank you to our volunteer patients and to everyone who helped make this event possible. Your time, effort, and enthusiasm made the evening a huge success.

There’s something special about a team that trains together, challenges one another, and shares a few laughs along the way. Nights like this make us stronger, both as providers and as a team.

From our EMS family to yours, Happy Father’s Day Weekend!

Today, we celebrate all fathers, stepfathers, grandfathers, and father figures who answer the call to support, teach, and care for others. Thank you for the example you set and the impact you make on your families and communities.

A special thank you to the dads serving in EMS, public safety, and healthcare, who often spend holidays and special moments caring for others. Your dedication does not go unnoticed.

Wishing everyone a safe and enjoyable Father’s Day.

Sending our love, prayers, and deepest condolences to the Durand Fire Department during this difficult time. We are holding the Chris Bates family close to our hearts and keeping all who knew and loved him in our thoughts. ❤️

With profound and heartfelt sadness, we have to announce the passing of Firefighter Chris J. Bates. Chris joined the Durand Fire Department in 2007, served as a Lieutenant and Training Officer on the department and was a current Senior Member. Chris was an amazing firefighter and US Marine Veteran. More importantly he was a brilliant husband, father and grandfather to his family. Rest easy brother, we’ll take the watch from here. Godspeed Chris Bates.

This right here is what a small community is all about on Memorial Day. 🇺🇸

Thank you to the Spring Valley Legion Post 227 & Auxiliary for honoring and remembering those who have fallen and those who were taken too soon. These moments remind us how fortunate we are to live in such a caring and patriotic community.

We love this small town and the people who make it special. ❤️

It’s EMS Week, the one week a year where it’s socially acceptable to thank EMS crews for surviving on coffee, gas station snacks, and very little sleep. 🚑☕😅

At Spring Valley Area Ambulance, we want to give a huge shoutout to our amazing EMTs and first responders who somehow manage to keep showing up ready to help… even at 3 AM when nobody else wants to answer the phone/pager.

We’re also incredibly thankful for our neighboring EMS agencies, fire departments, law enforcement, hospitals, and healthcare partners. Whether it’s lifting patients, sharing calls, covering shifts, or helping us laugh through the chaos, we couldn’t do this job without you.

EMS takes teamwork, dedication, compassion… and occasionally an unhealthy amount of caffeine.

Thank you to everyone who serves our communities and helps keep the wheels turning - literally and figuratively. Your dedication, teamwork, and commitment never go unnoticed, even if the coffee makers and energy drink suppliers might argue they deserve some credit too.

Happy EMS Week! 💙🚑
