Join us for Author Talk at the Spring Valley Public Library on Thursday, August 20th at 6:00 PM.

We will be sharing our personal journey, from a 24-year law enforcement career to navigating the challenges of PTSD.

It’s a story of hope and resilience, as detailed in our book, "Beneath The Badge - One Couples Fight foHope Through PTSD”.

It is with sad hearts that we post this.

We lost one of our own over the weekend. After 35+ years as an EMT, Mike Zimmer passed away following a 5 year battle with cancer. He was one of our co-directors and actively taking ambulance calls until a week before his passing.

Our hearts are with his family and friends. Mike touched many lives over his adult life as he was active in the community in many ways. Mike's volunteering as an EMT is just a part of the generosity of his time he so willingly gave. It seems very appropriate that he was selected as a "Citizen of the Year" this past fall for the city of Spring Valley.

MAY 4, 2026- SPRING VALLEY, MN

In a rural service area like Fillmore County and Spring Valley, combined EMS, Fire, & Law Enforcement training is essential to providing safe, effective, and timely emergency response. Rural responders are often faced with limited staffing, longer transport times, delayed mutual aid, and unpredictable environments that require personnel to work seamlessly together across multiple disciplines.

During this combined Training Exercise, crew members from Spring Valley Area Ambulance, Spring Valley Fire & Rescue, and Fillmore County Sheriff's Office were training in Search and Rescue tactics, as well as pediatric patient management.

Investing in these combined training opportunities ultimately strengthens the entire emergency response system, improves responder safety, and helps ensure rural communities receive the highest level of care possible when emergencies happen.

Huge thank you to our local ambulance service and all emergency services for everything they do for the Kingsland community day in and day out. From emergency calls, volunteering at our football games and to helping our families in tough moments, they’re always there when we need them most.
Now it was our turn to help them out a little. 💙🚑
Small towns take care of each other — and that’s what makes this community special.

Congratulations to Officer Sherwood. Ted was a member of our ambulance crew from the time he was still in high school until he decided to change careers from EMS to law enforcement and moved to the Austin area after becoming a member of the Austin Police Dept. Congratulations Ted. We are proud of you (and miss you)
