We now have the 5th named storm of the 2026 Atlantic Hurricane Season. The National Hurricane Center has upgraded TD5 to Tropical Storm Edouard with maximum sustained winds at 40 mph. TS Edouard is expected to make landfall tomorrow along the southeast Texas coast.
The primary threat is heavy rainfall leading to flash flooding along and east of I-45 throughout Tuesday. A Flood Watch is in effect.
Edouard is the third Tropical Storm of the season for southeast Texas.
Tropical Storm Arthur made landfall in mid-June in the Matagorda Bay area and Tropical Storm Bertha made landfall in Louisiana and then proceeded west into Texas in late July.

Spring Firefighters are in north Texas battling the “Ross Fire”. They are teamed up with colleagues from the Klein Fire Department.
According to numbers released by the Texas Forest Service this weekend, the Ross Fire has already burned over 85,000 acres, destroying 157 structures, including 18 homes.
Another group of Spring Firefighters are further east near Commerce assisting with fires in that area.

Members of Spring Fire’s Wildland Team are released from the 650 acre “Corky Fire” near Willis Point, Texas.
Captain Adams served as the Engine Boss, directing multiple bucket drops from Aviation assets, while Firefighters Dufford and Humes conducted burnouts and patrolled containment lines.
They are now heading back to Commerce to continue their deployment.

Three Spring firefighters are wrapping up a 14-day assignment with TIFMAS in Commerce, TX, where they have been standing by to assist with initial attack requests.

Tonight, three additional Spring firefighters will take their place and continue the assignment.
