Earlier this month, Officers Estes and Treon participated in the Police Unity Tour. Check out some of the photos they took along the way… watch for Officer Treon’s shoe, it was no match for 218 miles of bicycling.

Good morning, everyone!

We are experiencing extremely foggy conditions this morning, and visibility is limited in many areas. Please give yourself extra time to reach your destination safely.

A few important reminders:

• Use your LOW BEAM headlights, high beams can actually make it harder to see in fog.

• Slow down and increase your following distance.

• Stay focused and avoid distractions while driving.

Let’s all do our part to keep the roads safe this morning. Drive carefully and arrive safely.

One thing Warren County agencies do exceptionally well is work together.

Whether it’s a routine call or a high-stress critical incident, the communication, coordination, and trust between departments is something we are incredibly fortunate to have. Incidents like this are a reminder that public safety is never the work of a single agency; it takes teamwork, professionalism, patience, and a shared commitment to protecting our community.

We’re proud to work alongside the Franklin Ohio Division of Police, the Clearcreek Township Police Department, and the Warren County Sheriff's Office - Ohio. The safe resolution of this incident reflects the restraint, training, and collaborative response of everyone involved.

Mental health crises are some of the most challenging calls officers respond to, and we’re grateful this situation ended safely for everyone.

Did you know today is a holiday? It is!

Today, the Mayor has officially proclaimed Don Wilson Day in honor of Sgt. Don Wilson's final day on patrol with our department.

Throughout his career, Sgt. Wilson has served our community with integrity, compassion, and dedication. He has been a mentor, a leader, a friend, and a steady presence for both those who wear the badge and those we are sworn to serve. While today marks the end of his law enforcement career, it does not mark the end of his influence.

As one of his daughters so wisely said:

"A career can end, a title can change, but the impact someone leaves doesn't just disappear when the radio chatter goes quiet."

Those words perfectly capture Sgt. Wilson's legacy. The lives he has touched, the officers he has guided, and the community he has helped build will continue to reflect his impact for years to come.

Please join us in thanking Sgt. Wilson for his years of dedicated service and wishing him a well-deserved retirement.

Happy Retirement, Sgt. Don Wilson!

(PS. Enjoy this amazing artwork by one of his students from 2019. There are MANY many more that he has held onto from his students)

This weekend, we pause.

Not for upcoming barbecues.
Not for sales.
Not for the long weekend.

We pause for the men and women who never made it home.

This Memorial Day, we honor the heroes who gave their lives in service to our country — sons, daughters, mothers, fathers, friends, neighbors. Their sacrifice purchased freedoms many of us enjoy every single day without a second thought.

As we gather with family and friends this weekend, we ask our community to honor Memorial Day responsibly:

• Fly your flags proudly.
• Attend a remembrance ceremony if you can.
• Share the stories of those who served.
• Drive sober.
• Take care of one another.

Most importantly, remember that for many families, Memorial Day is not a celebration — it is a day of reflection, grief, pride, and enduring love.

To our fallen heroes:
You are not forgotten.
Your service mattered.
Your sacrifice lives on in the freedoms we protect and the communities we serve.

From all of us at the Springboro Police Department, we remember and honor you Memorial Day, and always. 🇺🇸

The annual Memorial Day Parade in tribute to those who served and sacrificed for our nation steps off at 2 p.m. Monday, May 25 on S. Main Street. After the parade, a brief ceremony is set for Wade Field, with complimentary refreshments and picnic fare following. The event is rain or shine.

The event would not happen without the support of the Memorial Day Committee, volunteers, businesses and citizens. The City is pleased to partner with Clearcreek Township to sponsor this commemorative event.

UPDATE as of 2:45 p.m. on 5/28/2026, road is back open.

West Pekin Road will be closed to all through traffic - open to local traffic only - from Deerfield Trail to St. Rt. 741 from Tuesday, May 26th through Friday, May 29th for a culvert replacement near the 2300 block. This is being completed prior to scheduled paving. Motorists traveling westbound on Pekin need to take St. Rt. 741 south to St. Rt. 122 west to St. Rt. 123 north, then continue back to West Pekin Rd. Motorists headed eastbound will travel in reverse. All work is contingent upon the weather, which may result in an extension of construction time. We appreciate your patience during this important maintenance project.
