Today, Shari Buchanan and her daughter, Jenn, honored us by bringing cookies for our employees at Springdale Police. The theme of this year's Cookies for Cops was to also honor first responders from 9/11 who lost their lives that day.

John Perry was the only off duty officer that perished at the towers. He was at the police station turning in his retirement paperwork that morning when he heard about the 1st plane. He grabbed his badge and ran to the towers and was last seen bringing an elderly lady out of the tower as the 1st tower was falling.

Thank you so much thinking of us, we appreciate it so much!!

Thank you to our day shift crew who dealt with a massive, logistically challenging traffic crash on I275 today. An alleged OVI driver crashed while on the ramp from NB SR4 to I275 east. The crash caused the high voltage lines to be torn down, creating serious threats to all involved and then the shutdown of 275 for six hours. A kind citizen thoughtfully stopped by with gift cards, treating the gang to lunch to show appreciation for their hard work. Sgt. Bill Zeek, Police Officers Eric Braden, Derek Setters, Onam Williams and Police Clerk Chris Knittel. Thank you, Nekesha, for your kindness to our employees. We truly appreciate it!!

It is with a heavy heart that we share that Sharonville Police Chief Steve Vanover has died from a medical condition he suffered last weekend. Chief Vanover was a kind, creative and caring leader. Steve came to our aid when Kaia was killed last year, sharing three lieutenants to assist us administratively and he provided around the clock patrol coverage for Springdale as well. It was his idea to form the working agreement during COVID that allowed us to ensure seamless service coverage between Sharonville, Springdale and Forest Park PDs. That agreement is in place still today. Our heartfelt condolences to Steve's family and to our brothers and sisters at Sharonville PD. Steve was a difference maker and will truly be missed. Chief Thomas Wells

The Springdale Police Department

We firmly believe that our police department is not just a group of people who work within the City of Springdale, but that our police department is part of the City of Springdale. We actively seek out ways to relate to our citizens, businesses, and visitors. Whether it is through our monthly neighborhood watch meetings, seniors meetings, community charitable activities, the citizens police academy, safety town, DARE, or other events we know we need to be part of the community and to be engaged with the community.

Springdale is a great place to live or work. We understand as law enforcement professionals the vital role we play in helping keep our community safe and nice. Our dedicated employees are here twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, to make sure that happens. Please feel free to call or stop in if you have any concerns or questions. We are here for you.
