On May 30th at around 3:30 PM, a bucket fell off one of our brush trucks while we were heading to a fire. Fortunately, upon returning to the station, we found the bucket safely positioned in front of our door.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the individual who returned our equipment. This good deed reassures our commitment to serving the community.

Big thanks to City of Ardmore - Fire Department for letting us come over and use your setup for pump testing! 🚒

Pump testing is critical for making sure our engine is ready to roll when our community needs us, and we really appreciate y’all helping us get it knocked out. Couldn’t do it without good neighbors like you!

This week, we at Woodford Fire want to take a moment to recognize the men and women who answer the call before we ever arrive on scene — our dispatchers.

When someone dials 9-1-1 in their worst moment, it’s a dispatcher’s calm, steady voice that meets them first. They gather critical information, coordinate our response, and keep us connected — all while managing multiple emergencies at once, around the clock, 365 days a year.

They don’t ride the trucks. They don’t walk through the door. But make no mistake — they are first responders too.
To every telecommunicator who has had our backs on a call: Thank you. You are the backbone of emergency response, and we couldn’t do this job without you.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Woodford Fire is proud to announce the retirement of our fire trucks in favor of a fully electric scooter fleet, effective today.

Each unit will be equipped with a premium water pistol, a reflective vest, and a bicycle bell described by testers as "surprisingly urgent-sounding."

Response times may increase. Residents with hills should plan accordingly.

Please do not call 911 about this. We still have the trucks. Happy April Fools' from Woodford Fire! 🚒
