Park Friends- Please be aware Riverside Park is "dog friendly" (as are all the parks); however, dogs are required to be on a leash except in specifically designated areas. Signs are posted to identify those areas. We ask that you check the signs to make sure you're in the right area before unleashing dogs. Thank you for helping us keep the parks safe !

Yesterday we found a lost black Labrador in Washington Park at 8am. Adorable male, approximately 1yr old, super friendly, with a green collar. He is at Sangamon County Animal Control hoping to get back with his owner. He did not have a chip or any form of tags. His photo is listed on "found pets of Sangamon County". We would love to see this wonderful young dog get reunited with his person.

Wednesday March 2, 2022 we will be modifying the traffic flow in Washington Park from approx. 9a until about Noon. During that time, these temporary detours/closures will occur:

The park entrances at Wiggins, Feldkamp/Fayette, and 1800 blk of Fayette will be closed. Fayette will remain OPEN as a through-street.

Park Traffic will be detoured out of the park and onto Feldkamp St.

Also, the western half of the playground lot will be closed and the entire Rose Garden lot will be closed both starting at 11pm on March 1 and ending at approximately 2 p.m. on March 2nd.

These detours/closures are only temporary to allow for movement of the Leland Summer Kitchen structure into the Washington Park.

-please note all times are Approximate.

Good Morning All:
