Madison County: Beginning Monday, March 31, lane and ramp closures will be encountered on northbound I-55/70 at Exit 11 (IL 157 Collinsville/Edwardsville) for deck patching on the bridge over IL 157. A detour will be in place, with all lanes reopening by 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 1.

Bureau County: Beginning Tuesday, April 1, resurfacing work will resume on nearly 10 miles of I-80, from the Bureau-Henry County line to east of the Illinois 40 interchange (Exit 45). Traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction and shifted to the eastbound lanes as crews work on the westbound lanes. The project is expected to be completed by late fall.

Champaign County: Beginning Monday, March 31, lane closures will be encountered in each direction on I-74 for repairs to the bridges over Cunningham Avenue/U.S. 45 (exit 184) and the north fork of the Saline Branch, just west of Cunningham. Details: http://prez.ly/vXhd

Peoria County: Beginning Monday, March 31, I-474 will be reduced to one lane in each direction just south of the I-74/Illinois 6 interchange for resurfacing and reconstruction of the I-474 bridges over Kickapoo Creek and the BNSF railroad. Construction will begin on the eastbound bridge and is expected to be completed later this year. Work on the westbound bridge is scheduled to begin in 2026.

Week 2 of the Kennedy rehab is complete! IDOT’s I-90/94 (Edens Junction to Ohio St) project is making great progress. Here's what’s been completed:

✔️ Concrete repairs on bridge piers and beams.
✔️ Removal of the top concrete layer with high-pressure water jets.
✔️ Surface milling of bridge decks and more!

Traffic Alert: Southbound I-55 near I-80 lane changes

Beginning Monday, March 31 at 9 PM, weather permitting, lane closures will take place on southbound I-55 between Jefferson Street (US 52) and I-80. At least one southbound lane will remain open and northbound I-55 will not be impacted. All lanes will reopen by 6 AM Tuesday.

The closure is necessary to accommodate replacement of the I-55 ramp to eastbound I-80 and the I-80 bridges over I-55. Thank you for your patience as we advance, rebuild, and transform I-80. Drive safely!
